Yoga Class

Lindsay’s journey into wellness and healing began when she knew it was time to make a huge life change. She was feeling stuck in life connected to her personal stress and past emotional trauma. In order for a change to happen she knew she needed to find healing on a deeper level. She found the practice of yoga and it changed her life forever. It helped her improve her overall well-being and has given her the tools to let go of old emotional wounds, anxiety, and many years of physical stress on her body. Yoga helped her feel stronger on all levels, take her power back and find healing in her heart. These healing experiences through yoga inspired her to want to become certified as a yoga teacher. Her passion in life is to use and share what she learned through yoga to help others find peace, balance, strength and find the healing that they need in their life.

Ann's journey began in early motherhood. As a young, single, working mom she struggled to find the time and money to develop a consistent practice. She found the benefits of yoga to be so rewarding to relieve stress and anxiety during difficult times. She has dived deep into various yoga traditions, including Hatha, Vinyasa, and meditation to curate a unique and accessible approach to yoga that focuses on mind-body connection along with spiritual growth. As she ages, she's beginning to explore functional somatic movement as a way to keep her joints healthy and hydrated. In addition to yoga, she's passionate about mindfulness and it's transformative power in everyday life. She integrates mindfulness into her classes, empowering students to cultivate present-moment awareness and find balance on and off the mat. When not on the mat you can find Ann exploring nature with her camera, enjoying live local music, or simply enjoying quality time with loved ones.

Marcie Kobak
RYT 200

Thursday 6:00 pm

Marcie's yoga journey began in 2012 for the physical benefits it brought to her running. She was immediately drawn to the powerful vinyasa classes which improved her strength, flexibility and range of motions. The more she continued to practice, the more my yoga transformed into a breathing moving meditation which grounded her and allowed her to grow in love with this ancient practice that she loves sharing with her students! She enjoys teaching a yoga class that offers her students, collectively, the sharing of the energy flow in the entire room. When not teaching she enjoys spending time with her family, practicing yoga, running, swimming, and walking her dog Oscar.

CLASS DESCRIPTIONS

ALL LEVELS FLOW

This yoga flow blends movement with breath. You will move through vinyasa sequences that promote grounding, build strength and flexibility and encourage mindfulness. Each teacher brings their own creativity and inspiration to class, for a truly unique experience every time you step onto your mat. This class is suitable for all levels of practice.

SLOW FLOW

Allow the body to surrender through slow, mindful movement and breath work. The pace of this class is meditative, promoting peace and calm in the body and mind. We hold poses longer, taking several rounds of breath in each pose, instead of moving to each breath. This class is suitable for all levels of practice.

ENERGY FLOW

An invigorating vinyasa flow where you will be guided through a series of poses to increase strength and stamina. This class is best for those with some yoga experience, however modifications will be offered to accommodate everyone. You will leave feeling strong, empowered, and uplifted. Get ready to sweat!

RESTORATIVE YOGA

This class is thoughtfully sequenced, focusing on relaxation and restoration with the use of props. Mindfully moving at a slower pace, we allow the body and mind to surrender into a peaceful and calming state. This class is suitable for all levels of practice.

YIN + RESTORATIVE

This hybrid, slow paced, meditative class brings together the long holds and deep breaths of Yin and thoughtfully transitions the student to a more supported and relaxed state of mind. Poses are held in a seated or reclined position, with the muscles fully relaxed, allowing time and gravity to deepen the stretch and the mind to surrender.

Yoga Sculpt

Yoga Sculpt combines yoga and strength training with light weights to add more power to your yoga routine. Light to moderate dumbbell weights are added to the flow to work the arms, shoulders, chest, back and core to help tone and sculpt the full body. No experience required for either yoga or weight training. This is an all levels class with options and modifications provided.

YIN YANG

This practice combines the best of Vinyasa and Yin Yoga. Class begins with meditation and breathing, then moves into a refreshing flow, linking breath with movement. It then transitions into a floor based practice that incorporates long holds and deep breaths allowing time and gravity to deepen the stretch and target the connective tissues of the body. This class is suitable for all levels of practice.

ADAPTIVE YOGA

This class offers special populations all the benefits of yoga without the worry of getting up and down off the floor. Props, including chairs are used, as needed to adapt the movements and poses to an accessible and safe level for beginners, seniors, mobility-impaired or larger bodied students. Breathe, move, stretch, find a peaceful, yet empowering energy derived from the principle of “honoring your body” where it is at the present moment.
